WHAT IS IBS?
In today's society, Americans complain more about digestion than ever before. Usually IBS starts in early adulthood and in most cases occurs before the age of forty. Often referred to as spastic colon or spastic colitis it  is the most common disorder seen by doctors today

Is IBS common in today's world?

Approximately 22 million people in the United States or 10% to 20% of the world population, 2/3's of whom are women suffer from IBS.

 

 How do I know if I have IBS?

The most common complaints of IBS are abdominal pain, diarrhea, constipation and gas.

 

How do I get IBS?

Poor digestion starts from bad eating habits, stress and lack of exercise. Over the years, these bad habits can lead to irritable bowel syndrome, IBS.

 

Can IBS be dangerous or life-threatening?

I.B.S. is not life-threatening but can affect all aspects of your lifestyle which includes sleep, employment, leisure time, travel, diet, sexual functioning and even depression and anxiety. The symptoms of I.B.S. may fluctuate over time but usually exist throughout the person's life.
